CRMA 40 Hour - Course Description

This is an approved program though DHHS/BEAS. It is designed to teach Residential Care Workers to administer selected non-injectable medications in a Licensed Residential Care or Group Home setting. The course also provides the basic understanding needed to administer medications and to document accurately and safely.

Requirements

Enrollment into this course requires that the student be age 18 or older. Students must be registered by and sponsored by a facility that will be conducting the 3 medication passes required for completion of the course. If this is not a possibility, please discuss this with our office staff. We may be able to assist you in this area,

CRMA 24 Hour - Course Description

Residential and Group Homes serving people with mental retardation, licensed by DHHS/BEAS as Level III have been granted a waiver of the CRMA requirements until July 1, 2006. These homes can continue to have people trained under the 24-hour curriculum. The number of medication passes for this course is 3 under the supervision of a CRMA or RN (recommended). If that person wished to be employed in other work setting, then he/she will have to complete the Bridge Course and 6 medication passes after the 24-hour program, than an additional 3 medication passes by an RN and the Bridge Course must be taken. Students must meet the same course requirements as the CRMA (5 day) program (i.e. 18 years of age, education etc).

Requirements

Enrollment into this course requires that the student have a HS Diploma, GED, or proof of 10th grade competency level on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) AND proof of age 18. Students must be registered by and sponsored by a facility that will be conducting the medication passes required for completion of the course.

CRMA 8 Hour Bridge - Course Description

This class is for CRMA's needing to upgrade their 24 hour certificate to a 40 hour certification. This class must be taken before the 24 hour certification expires, or the student will need to complete an entire 24 or 40 hour course to obtain certification .

Requirements

This class must be taken before the 24 hour certification expires. If the existing 24 hour certification expires, the 40 hour class will need to be taken, in order to receive the 40 hour CRMA certification.

CRMA 8 Hour Recert - Course Description

Requirements

This class is for students who need to update their current CRMA Certification, every 2 years.

CRMA Recert Refresher Class!  This LIVE  Online class is being offered to students who would like to review skills prior to taking the recertification course.

SHARED LIVING AND FAMILY - CENTERED HOME SUPPORT

 Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified to administer medications to the 1 or 2 people who live in your home. You are not certified to administer medications to anyone else. If you provide respite for another home provider, or if you work in another setting with other individuals, you need to take a more comprehensive medication administration course and be certified as a Certified Residential Medication Assistant (CRMA).

Requirements

 

This course is for people who administer medications to only 1 or 2 people in a Shared Living or Family-Centered Home Support setting funded under MaineCare section 21. This course is for the primary home provider as well as any others who administer medication only to the 1-2 people living in the home. Anyone who is paid to administer medications to other people in other settings is not eligible to take this course.

ANY STUDENT SCHEDULED FOR MEDICATION PASSES THAT DOES NOT SHOW FOR THE APPOINTED TIME,  WILL BE CHARGED THE FULL FEE AND WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED.

All fees must be paid at the time of registration.  To avoid delays in processing your request, please submit the full payment with your application. Once your application has been processed, you will be contacted with a confirmation. Please allow up to 5 business days to process your background check and payment method.

If you are being sponsored by another agency/entity, or need to discuss further arrangements for payment, please notify our office so that prior approval can be determined in order to enroll you into the class on time.

REFUND POLICY

Full tuition refund will be given to those who submit a written request of cancellation up to 3 days prior to the first scheduled class.  There will be no tuition refund available once a student has entered into the first day of class; or has not notified the agency of their intent to drop the course; or has failed to reschedule into a later class, prior to the original starting date he/she was enrolled.
